Ernie Hawes lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he has been faceting since 1974. Ernie is a founding member of the New Mexico Faceters Guild and has been designing
facet cuts for over 15 years. Nearly all of Ernie’s designs have been published in his Guild’s newsletter, The New Mexico Facetor and many have been reprinted in numerous
guild newsletters around the world. In recent years, several of Ernie’s designs have been published in Lapidary Journal. Ernie teaches faceting to members of the New Mexico
faceters Guild and has experience on many different faceting machines. Ernie is now the proud owner of a new Fac-Ette GemMaster II and believes it is the most accurate
machine he’s ever used and also one of the easiest machines on which to cut.
